| Training is required for the Den Leaders, the Cubmaster
and Assistants and the Pack Committee members. We stick to the "TWO
deep Leadership" motto that the Boy Scouts of America requires. For
Den leadership BOTH the leader and the assistant are trained. Likewise
for the Cubmaster and assistant. The Pack Chairman and any member of the
Pack Committee must also go through training. There are 3 training classes needed to get the "Trained"
badge for your left sleeve. These are: Youth Protection training (In
class or online), New Leader Essentials, and Cub Scout Leader Specific (For
the position you are getting trained on). POW WOW (a day full of
training on all aspects of scouting) is also a great source
for additional training and is usually offered in the Fall. For
additional information, check out the National Website's "Guide
to Safe Scouting".
Depending upon the district you are in will often help you decide
which class to sign up for. We are located in the Arapahoe District of
the Denver Area Council of the BSA. Each district offers it's own
training but it is okay for you to attend training in any district. A
current list of training courses can be found at both the Arapahoe
District Website and the Denver
Area Council Website. To register for a specific training, contact
the Scout Shop (here in Greenwood Village) and someone will help you get
signed up for the class you want to attend.

Contact the Cubmaster or
Pack Chairman if you are not sure which
training you should attend.
